Short Brothers and Harland Belfast C. Mk. 1

WITHIN the next two weeks, the first Short Belfast strategic freighter will be rolled out from its hangar preparatory to engine ground runs, vibration tests and taxi trials. The maiden flight will take place some eight weeks after roll out and the stage will then be set for eighteen months of intensive development flying before the Belfast enters service with the Royal Air Force.
