CONTRIBUTING to the operational flexibility of the VFW‐Fokker 614 twin‐turbofan transport is an on‐board Garrett‐AiResearch auxiliary power unit (APU) fig 1, which provides electrical power for the aircraft's electrical systems on the ground, and pneumatic power for starting its main engines.
