Irwin Research from AGEMA is extended

The capability of AGEMA Infrared Systems' recently launched IRwin Research 500 package has now been extended to enable PC-based presentation, recording and analysis of images from the company's high end research and development system, Thermovision 900.

The new system option means that customers involved in complex thermal analysis projects will now be able to use one of AGEMA's Thermovision 900 infrared scanners in portable applications which also require PC and Windows compatibility.

AGEMA's Thermovision 900 scanners can be fitted with a wide choice of filters and lenses to accommodate virtually all project requirements. In addition to shortwave and longwave Stirling cooled versions, they are also available in thermo-electrically cooled versions to suit different measurement and environmental conditions.

Running as an application under Windows, IRwin Research 900 software will allow engineers to use the portable Thermovision 900 infrared scanner to analyse temperature data in field situations where system mobility is paramount. Images monitored by the camera can be viewed simultaneously on a laptop screen and recorded to hard disk at the rate of 5-7Hz.

The operator has full control of the camera from the laptop, and is able to set all essential camera functions remotely. The same wide range of analysis functions available in IRwin Research 500 can also be found in IRwin Research 900, including spotmeters,lines, areas and isotherms. Full OLE compatibility with external software such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint is also provided.

Image data from both IRwin Research packages can be output to AGEMA's recently launched infrared report generator, IRwin Report. Also running as an application under Windows, IRwin Report enables customised, professional looking reports, each incorporating an unlimited number of thermograms, to be produced in a matter of minutes.

The IRwin Research 900 package includes software for the PC and a PC card interface which links the Thermovision 900 to a laptop or stand-alone PC. Existing Thermovision 900 customers wishing to purchase the new software can do so without any further configuration of their existing system.
