IEC International's position as a significant supplier to the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) program has been further strengthened by an order from Raytheon Systems Company of Waco, Texas, to supply the in-flight entertainment and cabin management system for the Boeing BBJ demonstrator aircraft (Plate 14).
The IEC system features many examples of their new range of touch screen and RS485 remote operation switch panel products introduced by the company to meet BBJ requirements. The aircraft will also include the recently introduced 42"Plasma bulkhead monitor. A new configurable modular audio/video switching unit will also be introduced on certain systems.

The news follows the announcement that the first nine BBJs are all to be equipped with integrated cabin management systems (CMS) designed and manufactured by IEC, as specified by Raytheon Systems Company of Waco. The databus based system minimises cabling and radically reduces the number of LRU's and control boxes needed on board the BBJ. Certain prospective BBJ owners and operators have also selected IEC for other new corporate fleet aircraft.
