Technological changes that may affect newspaper libraries in the future

When I was asked to give this paper today I felt somewhat fearful. My direct involvement in newspaper libraries had comprised downing pints of beer with Ken Murphy at The Guardian, being appalled by the problems of moving The Guardian's and Manchester Evening News' libraries in Manchester over one long weekend, and discussing staffing problems in Birmingham with Geoff Adams.
