New era for access to Australian information: Informit Online launched

New era for access to Australian information: Informit Online launched
Cooperation between the National Library of Australia and RMIT Publishing is set to usher in a new era of service and convenience for people accessing Australian bibliographic databases. In July, RMIT Publishing launched its new Internet-based service Informit Online which will absorb the National Library's Ozline service and provide online access to the databases currently published by RMIT on CD-ROM. Market research and customer feedback have convinced RMIT Publishing and the National Library of Australia that a streamlined single service will best meet the needs of Australian users.
The new Informit Online service will offer users improved features including: Web browser access, sophisticated search facilities, access to a wide range of Australian bibliographic and research databases, and flexible subscription options. The Australian Public Affairs Index Service and the Australasian Medical Index are jointly published by the Library and RMIT Publishing and will be available in the new RMIT service.
