Dr Ronald Ranta is a senior lecturer in Politics and international relations at Kingston University, London and a former chef. During the pandemic he has been volunteering with the surplus food charity, FareShare. His research focuses on the intersection of food, identity and politics. He is the author of several books, including Food, national identity and nationalism and “Going Native?” Food and Settler Colonialism, which is forthcoming.

Dr Hilda Mary Mulrooney is a nutritionist and dietitian with experience in primary care and public health. She has worked in higher education for several years and is an Associate Professor in Nutrition at Kingston University, educating students on two accredited nutrition degrees She is very active in professional practice and is a committee member of several groups within the UK and in Europe. Her nutrition research interests include obesity, fasting, orthorexia nervosa, food aid and public health.

Dr Dee Bhakta is a senior lecturer in Health Sciences (Human Nutrition) at London Metropolitan University and a nutritionist and dietitian with over ten years of clinical experience. She specialises in nutrition epidemiology, dietary assessment methodology, diets of South Asians and other ethnic groups, diet and breast cancer, phytoestrogens and phenylketonuria.
