Your correspondent returned from the November Charleston Acquisitions Conference in a sober mood. The conference dealt with issues in acquisitions and this year's subtitle (from Marshall McLuhan) “The Medium is the Massage” suggested that all librarians will be affected greatly by the rapidly increasing influence of the new, electronic media.
