It is now widely accepted that successful Civil Engineering schemes need a significant amount of technician training built into the commissioning package. This will lead to a well trained cadre of technicians who will be responsible for the daily operation of the Water Supply system of a country. Difficulties will arise when these technicians reach their upper promotion limits. Water Authorities will need to pay considerable attention to their welfare if they are to avoid losing these staff.
1 Programmes are available for such staff and Consultants are able to pick an ideal package 'off the shelf. The reputations of the scheme are a guarantee that the education and training provided will be appropriate to the needs of both the Water Authority and the Technician.
