Training the civil engineering technician Available to Purchase

The inauguration of effective training for the technician is a matter of great urgency. Eventually the dominant influence will be the new arrangements proposed in the Haslegrave Report. But these are only proposals at the moment: it is estimated that two years could elapse before Haslegrave courses are ready in the technical colleges. What is the correct course of action to take in the meantime? There are two schools of thought. One believes that new provisions should be held in abeyance pending the arrival of the new system. A second group believes that action is needed now on the assumption that adaptation to the new system will be made relatively simple. The author of this article belongs to the second school of thought and strongly advocates taking action right away.
