The purpose of this study is, on the one hand, to explain the problem of bleeding measurement. The method we chose is to suck water with a pipette in tracks we made on the top surface of the concrete just after casting. On the other hand, this paper explores the scale effect in fresh mortar bleeding. Many experimental results with different initial heights of the column are analysed. The final result is that scale effect is an ageing effect partly due to the hydration of cement.
