APPLICATION OF QUALITY CONTROL CONCEPTS IN CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING WORKS BY SUGGESTING ROOFING SYSTEM FOR BUILDING PROJECTS IN IRAQ

The interest in Quality Control in the construction sector is due to the scientific and technological development, which contributed in using of machines, instruments and different materials. The objects of Quality Control in general might defined as the following: High production through less wastage, using control plans which contribute in reducing cost and amount of work to gain a specific products for the consumer. The control on quality begins from the monitory of extract materials, and through production process till shopping of products and services to the consumers. Roofing is considered one of Building Systems that cause embarrassment among building process. It seems simple but its complex due to its containing of difficulty appliances. It is sensitive system represent the 1st defense line in resisting the external environmental conditions. Its failure represents the 1st precaution to the building failure in environmental performance. Roofing system consists of elements, parts and forms; each has its special functional performance, in addition to the presence of cooperating performance with other parts to do special function. All participate in the general performance of common roofing system: structure, preventive humidity, grading, thermal insulate and finishing. In order to perform suggesting roofing system involves the essential elements, field analysis of the system disadvantages in Iraq. These disadvantages happened in general due to failure in: general design, details design, materials performance or bad operations and bad execution. Through study of these disadvantages, it was found the necessary and suitable treatment by the usage of certain materials matched the standard technical specifications, as well as, the standard executive method for roofing with (hot and cold) quality. Further than, fixing thermal insulators, covers, drains and ventilation, those are suitable to building roofs. There are many conclusions and recommendations taking in consideration to form the final sequence program of the suggesting system.
