Since 1978, the California State Coastal Conservancy has experience in protecting, acquiring, restoring, and enhancing on California's coast and San Francisco Bay. This paper the Conservancy's attempt to save and improve California's wetlands, reviews the most important lessons learned, and suggests potential applicability.
