The aim of this study is to assess the foundation stability of a large 3D printed artificial reef (3D ARs), including scour analysis. To do that, a full interaction approach between wave - structure - soil foundation was conducted in this paper. At the conclusion of the study, the 3D ARs V–H capacity graph was compiled to determine an accurate foundation design when subjected to local scour conditions. It was shown that the foundation stability is governed by the horizontal wave forces. The difference in capacity calculated with the local scour was generally reduced by a factor of 1.8%. Based on this study, recommendations of scour prevention measures are proposed.
