Everybody travels, whether it be to work, shop, do business, play or visit people, and all commodities, foodstuffs, raw materials and manufactured goods must be carried from their places of origin to those of their adaption, sale or consumption. Nowadays, people and goods go by road to their destinations, or to docks for subsequent onward transport by water, to stations for movement by rail, and to airports for travel by air. However, whatever the intermediate travel mode used, when they arrive at their termini the great majority of people and goods must again travel by road vehicle to their final destinations.
