Recent high-level terminations suggest that sexual harassment and misconduct continue to be rampant in our workplaces, and it is a serious issue— one that has been persistent and pervasive in organizations throughout the United States for many years. However, the national dialogue about the problem took on a new urgency during the fall of 2017 with the firing of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein (“Harvey Weinstein Timeline,” 2019). The magnitude of the problem was confirmed quickly after this news was reported. In fact, in the first 24 hours after actress Alyssa Milano suggested that victims of harassment reply “me too” to a tweet she made in October of 2017, 12 million women made #MeToo posts on Facebook (Harvard Business Review Staff, 2018).
