Kendrick is a pre-service teacher in the teacher education program at the College of Charleston and he is an example of our pre-service teachers with positive energy, collaborative leadership, and incomparable work ethic. The College of Charleston is a public institution in the historical Low Country of South Carolina. The college has received numerous accolades including high marks for innovative teaching, intensive support for veterans, and a superior first-year experience program (College of Charleston, 2018). Despite being a mid-sized institution of 11,675 students, the College touts its small class sizes as one of its most inviting qualities to prospective students. Instructional faculty members are well versed in their respective disciplines and provide curricular experiences that challenge students to display leadership and collaboration skills both inside and outside of the classroom. Additionally, its location and proximity to tourist attractions have raised the college’s national profile in recent years.
