This qualitative study explores perceptions of educators on the purpose of North Dakota (ND) public K–12 education through lenses of capacity, passion, relevance, and presence (CPR). Researchers collected qualitative data from 40 survey respondents and 6 focus group participants. Findings suggest that K–12 public schools in ND should have at least some responsibility in developing students’ CPR and that there are gaps and deficiencies in how and the extent to which these domains are developed in students.
