The current social systems globally are generally described as patriarchal in that primary positions in government, the church, leadership and finance are held by men. We can see this in that in 2024, only 1I women were leaders of their countries.1 This is the highest number ever which can be seen as a positive change. Yet, there has never been more than 17 countries with women in the highest positions of power in a single year. This is less than 10% of the number of men who have held these positions.

Patriarchy has been the major social system since our ancestors became attached to land, agriculture, property and greater domestication.
