In today’s volatile world, higher education institutions (HEIs) must cultivate resilience to ensure sustainability. This chapter examines leadership strategies for crisis management in HEIs, focusing on thriving amid volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. It explores resilience through flexibility, adaptability, and proactive planning, addressing crises like pandemics, financial instability, cybersecurity threats, and sociopolitical disruptions. Drawing on literature and case studies, this chapter identifies institutional resilience components, emphasizing leadership’s pivotal role.
