This study explores the significance of strategic management in achieving sustainability within the tourism sector. Tourism is defined both narrowly as a mobility activity for enjoyment and broadly as an economic ecosystem. As a major income source, tourism necessitates efficient resource use and stakeholder engagement to maintain competitiveness and long-term goals. Sustainability issues, particularly environmental impacts, pose challenges in developing effective strategies, especially in developing countries. The study emphasizes the importance of strategic planning and stakeholder collaboration in making tourism sustainable, referencing Turkey’s 2023 Tourism Goals and UN studies to illustrate successful principles and policies.
