Sandy Sullivan began to feel that same sense of looming dread that seemed to set in annually as the fiscal year-end approached. Although she had been the head of Organizational Development and Training at LargOrg Corporation for 15 years, the process of deciding where to allocate the corporation’s limited leadership training resources never seemed to change. LargOrg Corporation had grown dramatically in the years since she joined the company, and now enjoyed the benefits of being publicly traded and looked upon as an industry leader. Although the amount of resources allocated to leadership training had increased over the years, the allocation process remained static. Sandy knew that a series of meetings with the senior management team would be conducted, shortly before deciding on the final budget allocations for training for the upcoming year.
