This chapter explores leadership from the perspective of the leader’s value set and its effects upon the organizational commitment of the employees and the perceived productivity of the firm in an Indian context.
This research study employed a quantitative method using a cross-sectional survey design to assess the effect of value-laden leadership on organizational commitment and employee productivity. A nonprobability, convenience sample was obtained from the population group, which was managers and employees in the Indian service sector industry and was based on our accessibility to them.
The research study examined whether integrity, benevolence, and responsibility are found to be the most factors most effective in fostering higher levels of organizational outcomes. It found that employees led by highly ethical leaders reported greater organizational productivity.
