Mr R, 0. Snell, British Petroleum
British Petroleum worked with Earl and Wright in the development and application of the Weight Engineering System for the Magnus platform. The system enables the effect of weight changes to be assessed quickly and cheaply. Typically, the revised load data is input in the evening and, with a microcomputer running overnight, the results are available in the morning. It is planned to expand this concept from platforms which have a module support frame, such as Magnus, to the more complex situation where there are integrated decks. I would like the Authors to comment on the manner in which the integrated deck case could be achieved.
