Results from triple element piezocone tests at four North Sea sites are interpreted with respect to pore pressure correction of measured data, pore pressure distribution and undrained shear strength. It is concluded that correction of measured data for pare pressure and geometry effects is significant. For single element piezocones recommended location of the filter is behind the cone. Application of effective stress principles gives a promising way of interpreting undrained shear strength from piezocone penetration tests.
