This chapter explores the intersection of technological advancements and sustainable tourism practices, focusing on how digital innovations, like blockchain, augmented reality (AR), and online advertising techniques, can promote environmentally friendly practices while enhancing tourist experiences. Through a comprehensive literature review, the study examines the impact of various digital technologies, including virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and destination recommendation systems, on responsible tourism and stakeholder engagement. The research study reveals that blockchain technology has the potential to increase trust and responsibility in tourism transactions, leading to more equitable economic outcomes for local communities. Similarly, AR technologies offer tourists deeper immersion in local cultures and environments, fostering a greater sense of accountability toward sustainability and heritage preservation. The study provides valuable insights for stakeholders, industry practitioners, and policymakers on promoting innovation and responsibility in tourism through the adoption of digital technologies. It emphasizes the crucial role of these technologies in driving sustainable tourism practices and economic growth. By exploring electronic tools and their sustainability implications, the research study offers guidance for developing sustainable economic and environmental tourism strategies. However, the study acknowledges limitations, such as its reliance on pre-existing research and the potential limited applicability to all tourism contexts. Additionally, the dynamic nature of digital technologies presents challenges in fully grasping their implications for sustainable tourism policies. Despite these limitations, this chapter contributes significantly to understanding how digital technologies can encourage ethical tourism practices and drive innovation in the industry, providing a roadmap for future sustainable tourism development.
