The value of information has grown tremendously for enterprises over the years; thus, protecting and securing information has become more crucial now. This research paper primarily focuses on human factors that can significantly influence information security within any organisation while considering the technological aspect. The approach employed in this paper is a review paper, where relevant literature is collected, analysed and synthesised to further explore human factors in information security. The findings of this paper demonstrate the inevitable influence of human factors on information security and suggest possible methods to mitigate the threats that humans pose to the protection of organisations' information. This paper contributes to the available literature on the relationship between human factors and information security. It also highlights the vulnerabilities that humans expose the organisation's information security to and proposes methods to mitigate them. In conclusion, human factors remain pivotal in ensuring information security, and organisations need to apply specific methods to mitigate potential threats.
