First page of 10. Bankers plan metros

SYNOPSIS. Moving people in tomorrow's developing countries will require finance. The banker's principal job is to arrange or provide finance. Finance on the right terms follows from sound planning and this is particularly true for developing countries. The banker can work with the project sponsor and his other consultants in helping to assess the financial viability of the project, let contracts on suitable commercial and financial terms, and co-ordinate the necessary funds. In short, he will help to bring in the project to time and cost.
