The opportunity to create a cross-cultural collaboration project arrived at a lunch table at an international conference on language teaching in Slovakia, where I met a colleague who is a teacher educator just like me, and together we decided to develop a collaboration and offer our students in Israel and Slovakia the opportunity to share their teaching experiences and discuss educational topics. The collaboration turned out to be fruitful and enjoyable and lasted over a full academic year. After a series of email correspondences and Skype/Facebook chats, we agreed on guidelines and topics for collaboration which were sent to our groups. The discussion topics concentrated on three aspects of education: students’ motivation, the ideal teacher, and student diversity and inclusion. The guidelines and topics are detailed in the Methodology section (Table 6.1).
