In response to low educational achievements of primary and secondary school students, the Kingdom of Morocco has initiated a major educational reform, Strategic Vision for 2015–2030—For a School of Equity, Quality, and Development (referred to as Vision 2030), in order to ensure equity in high quality education and the creation of skills to prepare students for employment upon graduation. Vision 2030 focuses on decentralization and regionalization to make education more relevant to local realities and appealing to girls, especially in rural areas. This chapter discusses findings from recent research to assess the capacity of the Morocco Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training to succeed at decentralization and gendersensitive education and recommends further research in these important areas.
