Take a Train Ride with Moses
Harriet (2019) is an American biographical film directed by Kasi Lemmons, who also wrote the screenplay with Gregory Allen Howard. The film follows the life and experiences of Harriet Tubman as she becomes a conductor on the Underground Railroad. In this inquiry, students will analyze the impact of Harriet Tubman’s actions on the Abolition movement in the Antebellum era. Students will explore the veracity of the film’s portrayals with the aid primary and secondary source materials.
