Culturally responsive pedagogies (CRP) are recognized as critically important for the field of mathematics teacher education, yet few studies have focused on mathematics teacher educators (MTEs) growing their own practice as culturally responsive educators. This chapter proposes a self-study framework to support MTEs in growing their CRP. The framework consists of key questions and reflective prompts at the intersections of three dimensions of CRP theory and four components of MTE practice. This framework serves as a pedagogical tool for MTEs to improve upon their pedagogical practice, while also providing a deliberate methodological tool with focused questions for MTEs to use in self-study data collection. We suggest that the future of culturally responsive teaching lies in developing the CRP of MTEs, who hold the responsibility to model a living and growing CRP for the teachers with whom they work.
