First page of Gender at the Work-Family Interface
A Collaborative Journey

We have been collaborating on work-family research (so far) for about two decades. Our first project was a vignette study of work-family decision-making, initially presented at the Academy of Management (AOM) Meeting (Greenhaus & Powell, 2000) and later published in Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes (Greenhaus & Powell, 2003). Our most recent project was a book that adopted a decision-making perspective to the work-family interface, Making Work and Family Work: From Hard Choices to Smart Choices (Greenhaus & Powell, 2017). Actually, our most recent project is this chapter, which has been a pleasure to prepare. It has provided an ideal opportunity to reflect on our long and satisfying careers (we are both emeritus professors) and our common interest in gender-related issues.
