This chapter focuses on one principal’s experience leading a private bilingual American school during COVID-19 in a city in Kuwait. The principal had to navigate the respectful culture of the teachers, students, and parents as online learning created conflicts of modesty as outsiders were now brought into the sanctuary of one’s home. The principal implemented adaptive leadership to lead through the crisis. The findings provide a better understanding of the Kuwaiti educational system and how political factors, societal norms, and personal factors influenced how this school leader responded to COVID-19.
