It is a common misconception that the only parameter required or even considered relevant from a pile load test is the measurement of total head settlement at design load and maximum test load. A considerable amount of potentially valuable information can be obtained by the careful load testing of piles using appropriate methods and procedures on site, and in the interpretation of the results.
