Tonya Huber, PhD (Pennsylvania State University, 1990), professor of education at Texas A&M International University. She joined TAMIU after 5 years of focused community development for the international disaster relief organization Feed My Starving Children. As an FMSC MobilePack Host Leader in both Ruidoso, New Mexico, and Laredo, Texas, Huber is passionate about providing nutritional meals for the world’s hungry while promoting international fair trade and handcrafted art as well as educating others about these topics. Huber’s research interests focus on creating and assessing culturally responsible pedagogy in educational and community settings, global citizenship, community and international service learning, and food insecurity for the world’s children.
