Abstract
The globalization of capital and the rise of transnational corporations have led to a steady assault on people and communities throughout the world. This chapter examines the impact of this assault on rural communities in Upstate New York by exploring the exploitative impact of transnational corporations. Analysis of this multifaceted assault creates a case study which can inform the thinking and practice of those who are preparing for, or currently facing, similar attacks.
