This chapter presents recent research among Middle Eastern born parents (MEBPs) living in the southeastern United States, who have raised children into their teenage years. This research applies adult learning models (transformative learning (Cranton, 1994; King, 1997; Mezirow, 1990) and intercultural competency (Gertsen, 1990; Han, 2012)) to examine three major research questions regarding the social and educational issues of raising these Muslim children and teenagers.
