Dembo and Gubler Junge (2005) in their chapter in What Works in Distance Learning: Guidelines (O’Neil, 2005) presented 12 learning strategies that could aid a learner in a distance learning setting to maximize his or her learning experience. The 12 learning strategies discuss details of text summarization, annotation, visual representations, elaborative interrogation, elaborative verbal rehearsal, generation of higher level questions, outline-formatted notes, test preparation, help seeking, time management, goal setting, and test anxiety reduction. These strategies are applied in this document to learning about brakes. The strategies are written from the learner’s perspective.
