First page of Introduction to Case Study 1

This exciting and powerful research inquiry seeks to answer the questions of who, how, and why. It is significant how the author established the conditions for this exploratory study so that other researchers and readers can understand the environmental constraints and context that influenced participants’ behaviors and outcomes. This case study’s participants were 51 Kansas City, Missouri residents who had experienced school desegregation. Also, a unique and distinguishing feature of the study is the population of choice, participants who had gone through school desegregation. The participants were exemplary, considering they portrayed a population influenced by two significant legislations: Brown v. Board of Education in 1954 and Jenkins v. Missouri in 1995.
