The need to integrate theory and practice in preservice teacher education is well documented. A PDS context can respond to this need, and this chapter elaborates the ways in which a series of three one-semester teacher education courses were redesigned to be field-based and co-taught by university faculty and elementary school teachers. Models of the courses and data excerpts from preservice teachers are provided in order to provide a variety of insights into the use of field-based methods courses.
