Abstract
The cognitive revolution has revolutionized more than theory, research and methodology in psychology. It has also had a major impact upon the content and pedagogy of introductory classes—particularly those classes focusing on learning, cognition, and instruction. In this brief paper I will recount my experiences with these classes, first as a student and then as a teacher. I make no pretense that my experience is typical but when you’ve been doing something for this long, you just have to talk about it now and again.
