Combs and Moorhead are to be commended for that fine blend of philosophy and practicalities in assembling a highly useful handbook for those seeking competitive intelligence. They meld issues regarding the significance of improved knowledge with an inventory of source materials and data bases most likely to be helpful in this search. There is no stuffy pretense or technical jargon here. They write clearly, with modesty, and with remarkably generous praise for some eighteen current competing volumes.
