This chapter reports on a study in which preservice teachers participated as researchers, focusing on the education of gifted and talented (G/T) elementary school students. Preservice teachers participated in two PDSs—one that was recognized as a magnet school for G/T students and the other for its fullinclusion approach that “mainstreams” G/T students. The teacher candidates gained comparative perspectives, knowledge, and understanding of G/T education from their experiences at the PDSs—an education that is unique to the PDS concept approach.
