First page of Co-Curricular Leadership Programs and Services Centering Black College Men

Co-curricular leadership programs and services centering Black college men remains a popular topic amongst higher education administrators and faculty for several decades (Brooms, 2019). This area of interest has resulted in over a dozen books, more than 60 articles written, and countless initiatives being created amongst institutions of higher education within the last 20 years (McElderry, 2015). Historically, leadership programs and services are designed with the goals of retention and graduation for Black men but are done so differently based on the needs of each campus. As research continues to emerge, the need to increase our knowledge about how various types of programs are executed across institutional types remains necessary.
