The battle for women’s rights started back in the late 18th century, which set the stage for the rise of women’s movements. Women grew increasingly dissatisfied with the limitations society had placed on their activities. The traditional thinking was the common cliché that a woman’s place was in the kitchen, and a woman’s job was to clean the house, look after the children, and wash the dishes. The current generations of women are definitely more enthusiastic and determined to succeed in their careers, not having to depend on their male counterparts. Women are not only becoming the backbone of families but also the backbone of several companies. The new cliché might be “in a successful company there is always a woman responsible.” Women have demonstrated that they know how to keep things in order and are great problem solvers. They are hard workers and strive to achieve their goals. These statements might well be used as the definition of an independent, successful woman in the 21st century.
