This chapter presents research findings on teacher stress associated with challenging student behavior and teacher activeness and their ability to cope. The Utrecht Challenging Student Questionnaire for Teachers (UCSQT) and Teacher Professional Activeness Questionnaire (TAQ) were administered to a sample of teachers employed in the Perm region of Russia. We compared the effects of school environment against those of teacher activeness on the incidence and stress of the most challenging student behavior in the classroom. The analysis of gathered data convincingly showed that professional activeness of the teacher (as compared with school environment) is an important coping resource.
