This chapter examines the research studies on PDSs by both practitioners and researchers and specifically analyzes the quality of inquiry and its potential impact on teacher education. The selected research studies were published in two previous volumes of PDS research in 2000 and 2005 (Guadarrama, Ramsey, & Nath, 2000, 2005). The authors, also the editors of the current volume, conclude that the results of their investigation affirm the vision of Goodlad and others that universities and schools working together to educate teachers and improve school performance are poised to impact educational reform in profoundly positive ways.
