I am Owen L. Cedarburg. I am a retired U.S. Navy Captain, having served 30 years both as an unrestricted line officer and a Judge Advocate General (JAG) attorney and appellate judge. I attended a Catholic grammar school, a public high school, an elite private university (Washington University of St. Louis), and a public university and law school (University of South Carolina). My three daughters attended Catholic and public grammar schools, including overseas public schools in Australia and the Philippines. They attended both Catholic and public universities. Through these experiences, I believe I have had the opportunity to evaluate the relative merits of a broad range of educational institutions, both public and private.
