A unique partnership among Aga Khan University (both Karachi and Dar es Salaam campuses), Cambridge University, and the University of Calgary has presented a rich opportunity, as well as a pressing need, for research into the potential of e-collaboration to span time zones, location, bandwidth, and ICT skills and access to tools. In January 2009 a research team was formed to investigate issues related to online collaboration (e-collaboration), and assist the various Zanzibar Round Table (ZRT) project teams in using collaborative tools for their projects. This survey is a step toward identifying the ecommunication and ecollaboration needs of ZRT project teams and partners.
